Istanbul – Nuruosmaniye Camii

Nuruosmanlije džamija

Gradnju je počeo Mahmut I 1748. godine a završio je Sultan Osman III, po projektu Simeon Kalfe. Njeno ime znači svjetlo osmanlija, a na džamiji se nalazi mnoštvo prozora (174 prozora)  koji njenu unutrašnjost čine svijetlim. Veoma je karakteristična sa aspekta osmanske arhitekture. Njeni trodimenzionalni kameni ukrasi su bez premca u svijetu arhitekture i predstavljaju pravo remek djelo. Ima jednu kupolu okruženu u osnovi sa 32 prozora. Džamija ima dva minareta sa po dva šerefeta (balkona). Pored džamije izgrađeni su još medresa, javna kuhinja, biblioteka, turbe i fontana. Nuruosmanlije biblioteka je jedna od najelegantnijih biblioteka u Istanbulu i njeni mnogi rukopisi su dostupni čitaocima. Iz harema Nurosmanlije džamije ulazimo u Kapali čaršiju.

 

Nuruosmaniye Mosque

The construction of Nuruosmaniye Mosque was commissioned by Mahmut I in 1748. It was completed during the reign of Sultan Osman III. The project’s head architect was Simeon Kalfa. Its name means “The Light of the Ottomans”, and the mosque contains a vast number of windows (174 windows), which bring light to the interior. It is very characteristic from the aspect of Ottoman architecture. Its 3D stone decorations are second to none in the world of architecture and they represent a true masterpiece. The mosque has one dome encircled with 32 windows in its base. The mosque has two minarets with double balconies. Next to the mosque is a madrasa, a public kitchen, library, mausoleum and a fountain. Nuruosmaniye library is one of the most elegant libraries in Istanbul and it contains many manuscripts which are available to readers. We enter the Grand Bazaar from the harem of Nuruosamniye Mosque.
