Bursa

Četvrti je grad po veličini u Republici Turskoj sa oko 2.100.000 stanovnika. Smješten je u regiji Marmara. Bio je u sastavu Rimskog carstva, kasnije Vizantijskog, da bi nakon toga u periodu od 1326. do 1365. godine bio prva prisjetolnica Osmanskog carstva. Zovu ga još i „Zelena Bursa“ jer obiluje uređenim parkovima i zelenim površinama. Jedan od simbola grada je Ulu Camii (Velika džamija),  jedna od najznačajnijih džamija u svijetu. Izgrađena po naređenju Sultana Bajezida I. U blizini Burse na nadmorksoj  visini od 2543. metara nalazi se planina Uludağ na kojoj su tokom zime zastupljeni zimski sportovi, dok je ljeti popularno planinarenje i kampovanje.  Također u predgrađu se nalazi predivan botanički park „Bursa Botanik Parkı“ koji je otvoren 1998. godine. Kopnenim putem od Istanbula udaljena je oko 240 km, koji je jednim dijelom brza cesta sve do uključenja na autoput Ankara – Istanbul. Druga veza imeđu ova dva grada je trajekt koji vozi od Yalove i Mudanye prema Istanbulu – Yenikapi. Od Ankare je udaljena oko 385 km, a povezani su brzom autocestom.

Bursa is the fourth largest city in Turkey with around 2.1 million inhabitants. It is located in the Marmara region. It was part of the Roman Empire, later Byzantine, and after that in the period 1326 or in 1365, was the first capital of the Ottoman Empire. It is also called “Green Bursa” because of rich landscaped parks and green space. One of the symbols of the city is Ulu Camii (Great Mosque), one of the most important mosques in the world. It was built upon the orders of Sultan Bayezid I. Close to Bursa on an altitude of 2543 meters is Uludağ mountain with winter sports popular in the winter, and  hiking and camping during summer. Also, in the outskirts is a beautiful botanical park “Bursa Botanik Park” which was opened in 1998. It is located at about 240 km by land from Istanbul, which is partly the fast road to the highway entrance Ankara – Istanbul. The second connection between the two cities is a ferry that runs from Yalova and Mudanya to Istanbul – Yenikapi. Ankara is at about 385 km via highway. Bursa is the center of the Turkish automotive industry, with factories of motor vehicle manufacturers such as Fiat, Renault and Karsan, and manufacturers of car parts Bosch, Magneti Marelli, Valeo, Johnson Controls and Delphi Automotive. The Sebilj was built by Osman Gazi municipality on the model of the Sarajevo Sebilj.
