Stolac – Careva džamija / Emperor’s Mosque

Polazna tačka za obilazak Stoca je Sultan Selimova ili Careva džamija, odakle počinjemo našu šetnju po ovom prekrasnom gradiću. Sultan Selimova džamija (Careva džamija) je jedna od najstarijih džamija u Bosni i Hercegovini, izgrađena 1519. godine. Srušena je 1993., a obnovljena 2002. godine, ima jedan minaret, natkrivene sofe i šadrvan u haremu. Krov je prekriven kamenim crijepom.

The starting point for touring Stolac is the Sultan Selim mosque or the Emperor’s mosque from which we begin our walk across this beautiful small town. The mosque of Sultan Selim (Emperor’s mosque) is one of the oldest mosques in Bosnia and Herzegovina built in 1519. The mosque was destroyed in 1993 and renovated in 2002. The mosque has one minaret, porch and a šadrvan in the harem. The roof of the mosque is covered with stone roofing tiles.
